A lightning strike Tuesday destroyed a Harford County home.
Firefighters said the 3 alarm blaze at 815 Sherril Drive in Pylesville was brought under control quickly. Fortunately, the homeowner was not inside his mobile home at the time, but two family dogs were. Both were rescued by a neighbor.
Firefighters said the blaze was one of dozens of fires that broke out simultaneously due to the storm. Deputy Chief John Williamson with the Whiteford Volunteer Fire Company said, “In terms of severity this was a pretty vicious storm as far as activity, specifically in the north and northwest regions of this territory.”
The house was a complete loss.
The homeowner was staying with family.
