A four-alarm fire in Randallstown destroys dozens of apartments and leaves many more people homeless.

The fire was called out before 9 p.m. Sunday night at the Marrions Square Apartments in the 4600 block of Horizon Circle. This morning, a few hot spots flared up.

The fire escalated for four alarms in just 40 minutes. About 100 firefighters were called in to knock down the flames that were shooting through the roof.

Two buildings were affected; that’s 24 apartments. The Red Cross and Baltimore County Department of Homeland Security helped the displaced residents find shelter.

"I thank God that we have insurance, but we lost a lot of things that are going to be extremely difficult. We lost everything we had," said Willard Bulger, whose apartment is badly damaged.

There is no word on a cause. Arson investigators will be back at the scene on Tuesday.

Crews were boarding up the two buildings early this morning.
