FROSTBURG, Md. (AP) -- A Frostburg State University student has been charged with disrupting school operations for allegedly threatening to shoot up the western Maryland college.
Police say 19-year-old Allieu Shaw, of Gaithersburg, made the threat while playing an online video game. He was arrested on campus Tuesday after a game player in Oregon alerted Frostburg city police.
Shaw allegedly was playing the online war game, "Call of Duty 4," when he made an audible statement about "shooting up the school" and described how he was going to do it.
He faces up to two years in jail and 10,000 dollars in fines if convicted on both counts.
Shaw has been suspended from school pending an administrative hearing.
