Erase Embarrassing Photos from Facebook

Everyone on Facebook knows that other people can post photos of you, "tagged" with your name.

Result: the whole world can see you in an embarrassing moment, often involving alchohol, or during an awkward "big hair/tight pants" phase from the 1980's. Did you really think that perm looked good on you?

Uggh!

Wisk Detergent Helps Out

So the makers of Wisk detergent have just released a Facebook app that helps you to erase dumb or drunken photos, like that time you danced with a beer bottle on your head. It's called "Wisk-it."  Good for ring around the collar or silly photos.

Start with a Search

You search for photos tagged with your name.  I ran a search and found one of me playing keyboard with a rock band about 15 years ago.  Even though I have a Mullet haircut, I like the picture, as it makes me less of a "geek" than I normally am.  So I'll keep it.

But other photos may not be so kind.  Those are the ones you want to un-tag.

Don't like the photo?

If you don't like the photo, click a button that asks the poster to remove it. Wisk says most people will do that if asked.  However, you cannot physically remove a photo that someone posted... without a court crder.

If they won't remove it, you can at least "untag" your name so that it no longer pops up on your Facebook page.
