Maryland has been given a unique opportunity to help count next year's census. And the best part, if you're out of work, this could be for you.

The Census Bureau needs to hire 2,500 new employees to process the census questionnaires that will be mailed back. Those employees will work in a data processing center in Baltimore County.

Wednesday morning, there will be two events to kickoff next year's census count. The governor along with Dr. Ben Carson from Hopkins will be there. Dr. Carson's been appointed to lead the effort to get every person counted in Maryland.

It's a big deal because it affects how much federal money the state will get for schools, housing, and public safety.

The 2010 census questionnaire will be one of the shortest in history, with only 10 questions. It should take you about 10 minutes to fill out.
