The Calvert Hall Cardinals are 6 - 3 in 2009. The team started the season with two losses against St. John's D.C., and Archbishop Spalding High.
By week three Head Coach Donald Davis got his offense rolling with a big win over Southside. This was also the team's home opener.

Varsity Football scored in bunches in their home opener as they defeated Southside Academy 70-6. The cards raced to a 39-0 first quarter lead behind 2 scores from Brandon Neverdon, and a pair of touchdown passes from Patrick Fitzgerald to Trevor Williams.
Paul Johnson added a pair of touchdowns on his own returning an interception and a punt for a touchdown. C J Williams, Phil Castronova, and Garrett Keene each added a score. Chris Karolenko had 7 extra points and a 33 yard Field Goal.
Student Council President, Frank Kelly IV also threw a 2 pt conversion to Jimmy Schneider.
The defense, led by Shane Ryan, Jimmy Schneider, Dan Yarborough and Trevon Wilks recorded 5 sacks, forced 2 safeties and shut out Southside before allowing a score on the games final play. The Varsity Cards are back in action next Friday night as they visit Havre De Grace.
