Baltimore, MD - Baltimore City Police arrested four men for stealing the Cal Ripken statue outside of Camden Yards overnight. The large "Number 8" was lifted into the back of a pickup truck. The four men are between 18 and 20 years old. Three are from Baltimore County. The other is from Southwest Baltimore. The suspects were caught on tape by the Citiwatch cameras, but police tell ABC2news.com that the cameras were not being monitored at the time of the theft. Police say the #8 has been recovered. Ripken played for the Orioles from 1981-2001. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2007, with the highest percentage of votes ever. Ripken's #8 was retired in 2001. Retired Orioles are given a statue of their number in the courtyard on Eutaw Street right outside of Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
