Arnold Burglar Arrested

Last Update: 11/05 12:02 pm
Anne Arundel County Police have arrested and charged a 42-year-old Baltimore man after they say he burglarized a woman's home and then ran from police.

Officers were called to the victim's home in the 1200-block of Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Arnold shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday for reports of a burglary in progress.

The 62-year-old victim told police she saw the suspect, later identified as Luther Green, inside her home. When he saw her he quickly ran from the house and fled in a dark colored Saturn.

Police searched the area and quickly found a car matching the description given by the victim. Officers tried to pull the car over but the driver refused to pull over. They lost sight of the car and later found it in a ravine off of Route 100's West entrance ramp from Ritchie Highway North. Police say it appears Green struck another car while entering the ramp. The other driver was not hurt.

Police say Green fled on foot and was later caught. He is charged with first-degree burglary, third- and fourth-degree burglary, theft over $1,000, two counts of theft under $100, fleeing and eluding along with various other traffic charges.

Green was taken to Shock Trauma for treatment of minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
