Amazing Rail Rescue

Last Update: 11/10 12:02 pm

Amazing video out of Boston.

A 26-year old woman apparently trying to step on her cigarette on a metro platform, loses her balance and falls onto the tracks.

Her foot even seems to touch the third rail which could have electrocuted her and an oncoming train is only seconds away.

Other passengers start waving franctically to get the operator's attention.  Train operator Charice Lewis recalls the terrifying moments as she was able to bring the train to a halt, with only inches to spare.

"...then, as I'm approaching, the lady pops up her head and it stopped in time.  ...she got really, really close.  She comes up with a smile on her face."

Passengers on the platform helped pull the woman out of the rail pit.  The train operator has been recognized for her life-saving response.
