2-Alarm Fire at Elkridge Apartment Complex

Contributor: Sara Spangler
Last Update: 7/02 4:30 pm

Firefighters are currently battling a 2-alarm fire at an apartment complex in Elkridge.

The fire broke out just after 1 p.m. Thursday in the 6700-block of Old Waterloo Road. When crews arrived they found heavy fire coming from the three-story garden-style apartment building.

By the time firefighters arrived, the flames had already destroyed the structural integrity of the building forcing them to fight the fire from the outside.

There is no word on any injuries and a spokesperson for the fire department says it's still too early to tell how many people will be displaced as a result. Twelve units were effected.
