"Chariot" is an Uber alternative that only allows women. There's only female drivers and passengers.
The company was started by Michael Pelletz, a former Uber driver.
"You don't really see many women Uber drivers," he said. "And at night you never see any women drivers, so I always wondered why?"
Chariot drivers must be women. Riders can be children, but male riders must be under the age of 13. Adult men are not allowed in the vehicles.
Critics say that the company is sexist. Pelletz said the plan is all about safety.
Chariot is based in Boston. The company planned to launch Tuesday, but pushed their timeline back because of increased demand. Service will now start in the fall.
