The Foundery celebrated its grand opening Monday. It's the first of many ventures at Port Covington.
It's a place where people with ideas come together with resources to make them happen. The Foundery is what House democrats are pushing for as an updated version of the "Make it in America Plan."
CEO Jason Hardebeck says that everyone can benefit from the Foundry.
"Success for us is a couple of different things," he said. "Somebody comes in and learning a new skill and technology to build something that's cool for themselves or for others. It could be somebody who's learning new job skills and who can transition into a new career in advanced manufacturing or actually it's somebody who comes in with an idea and transforms it themselves."
The Foundery is part of Sagamore Ventures, founded by Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank to redevelop Port Covington as a hub for manufacturing and innovation that will help revitalize Baltimore's economy.
