Maryland becomes one step closer to forcing all drunk driving offenders to get an ignition interlock.
Many feel it's a fitting legacy for Montgomery County police officer Noah Leotta. He died in December after a suspected drunk driver struck him during a traffic stop.
The driver has been convicted of drunk driving twice before. Less than a month after Leotta's death, "Noah's Law" started working its way through Annapolis.
Currently, you have to blow a .15 to be forced into the ignition interlock program, Noah's Law changes that number to .08.
Versions of Noah's Law have passed the House of Delegates and the State Senate. There are enough differences that it has to go through a conference committee before landing on Governor Hogan's desk.
