Legalizing same-sex marriage reduces teen suicide attempts according to Johns Hopkins study

Suicide is the second leading cause of death for all U.S. teens and it's even higher for LGTBQ teens.

A new study from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health suggests legalizing same-sex marriage has reduced suicide attempts by 134,000 per year.

Julia Raifman, the author of the study joined ABC2's In Focus to discuss. Raifman is a post-doctoral fellow in the department of epidemiology at the Bloomberg School of Public Health.
