In the days following the mass murder of 49 people inside Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, the nation's gun control laws have come under fire. The left says harsher gun laws are needed, the right says criminals needs to be punished.

Joe Vince is a former ATF special agent and current security specialist and director of the criminal justice program at Mount St. Mary's University. He joined ABC2's In Focus to break down the current process for obtaining guns and where he believes the system needs improvement.

Vince believes that a simple background check is not a sufficient vetting process. He said that will only uncover felons and those with mental checks established by an institution. He believes the vetting process needs to be stricter.
