You can save on gas if you're willing to shop around, but did you know the day of the week you fill up makes a difference too?
GasBuddy collected three years' worth of gas price information to make shopping around a breeze.
It found the cheapest day to fill up is Monday. The most expensive days are Thursday and Saturday.
An analyst for GasBuddy says one possible reason for higher gas prices later in the week is a report that comes out from the "Energy Information Administration." It is released on Wednesdays and can push up prices depending on if the information in the report is what's expected or a surprise.
The analyst also says stations lower prices by Monday because there is not any Stock Market trading on oil and gas over the weekend that could influence prices.
