The FDA issues stickers -- often called "black box warnings" or "boxed warnings on some antibiotics -- warning of possible tendon ruptures, and on some anti-depressants warning of suicide risks.
Now, Baltimore health commissioner Dr. Leana Wen is among the physicians leading the charge to get boxed warnings on prescription painkillers and anti-anxiety medications.
The warning would alert patients to potentially deadly interactions between opioids -- like Percocet or Oxycontin -- and benzodiazepines -- like Valium and Xanax.
