If you see someone on the side of the road with their boot in hand, don't worry, they aren't confused, they are just helping a good cause.
Members of the Baltimore City and Baltimore County Fire Department are doing their annual "fill the boot" fundraiser.
The money that goes in the boot will be donated to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Rick Hoffman, head of the firefighters' Local 734 in Baltimore, talked with In Focus about his personal connection to ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease---one of the diseases that gets research money from the MDA.
