Hospital employee charged with raping a patient

ARLINGTON - Police have charged a former hospital technician with raping a 37-year-old patient.

Arlington County Police said 30-year-old Roy Jones of Washington D.C. was working as a CT scan technician at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington when the alleged attack happened on January 13.

They collected DNA and forensic evidence from the victim - they just received the crime lab report a few days ago.

Jones is being held without bail - he's charged with first degree rape.

The hospital released a statement saying Jones was suspended immediately after the incident was reported and has since been fired.

Police say the hospital has been cooperating with the investigation.
