Study questions benefits of bedrest

It's not uncommon for pregnant women to be told by their doctors to go on bed rest.

It's most often encouraged to prevent premature birth.

But new research is suggesting the age-old treatment doesn't do a woman any good and won't prevent prematurity.

Some specialists say it offers no benefits and can put more emotional strain on a mother-to-be.

This latest study is calling for more research to be done to finally settle the controversy.
