St. Josephs launches a yoga program for breast cancer survivors

The Cancer Institute at St. Joseph Medical Center recently launched a pilot yoga program for breast cancer survivors.

Yoga for breast cancer patients is designed to meet patients' needs based on the health of each woman.

What are the benefits?
It has been shown to reduce stress, decrease body fatigue and strengthen the body.

Ann Israel, the teacher of the class, says "yoga can also boost the ability of breast cancer survivors to handle their treatment and feel more relaxed in daily life."

The class is Wednesdays from 5:30pm-6:30pm and it will continue this winter and spring. The cost is $5 dollars per session.
