Two more states say they do not want opioids to be prescribed as painkillers.
Connecticut and Alaska are two of the latest considering legislation that would allow patients to formally notify health care professionals that they do not want to be prescribed or administered opioid medications.
Legislators in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania last year voted to create similar voluntary instructions.
