The Harford County Health Department issued a statement Wednesday asking residents to check their Naloxone kits amid a recall.

It was in response to Teleflex Medical Inc.'s medical device recall for specific lots of MAD Nasal Intranasal Mucola Atomizer Device.

The company reported a number of complaints about the atomizer not delivering the full amount of the medication. Naloxone can reverse an opioid overdose, but defective devices could cause a risk of under-dosing Naloxone during nasal administration.

The Harford County Health Department said while some affected kits were handed out in the county, no malfunctions have been reported. If your Naloxone atomizer is affected, you're asked to call the department at 410-877-2355 for a replacement.
