Wednesday marks the launch of the Open Enrollment, and a nonprofit is helping you find the perfect insurance plan.

Starting on November 1, Healthcare Access Maryland, a nonprofit organization, will help people enroll in qualified health plans.

"We want the public to know that there are affordable health insurance options available on the exchange this year," said Traci Kodeck, president, and CEO of HealthCare Access Maryland. "Our team of trained navigators will walk consumers through the process and help them make the best decision about insurance. We urge all residents of the area to learn about their options for free or affordable insurance coverage."

During Open Enrollment, consumers can sign up for various private insurance plans.

HealthCare Access Maryland suggests looking for a 2018 plan, rather than just re-enrolling, because of the recent changes in plans, premiums, and subsidies.

Open Enrollment ends on December 15, and policies will go into effect on January 1, 2018.
