New study confirms a certain weight loss surgery can help eliminate diabetes in some patients
New research from the Cleveland Clinic confirms previous studies about gastric bypass surgery and diabetes.
The study shows that after the weight loss surgery some patients with Type 2 diabetes had normal blood sugar levels, without any diabetes medications.
It took most patients about 12 months for their bodies to maintain an average blood sugar.
While this is an option for some people, doctors warn weight loss surgeries are risky, and not all patients can qualify.
