New review finds divorced adults at higher risk of early death

A new review by the University of Arizona found divorced adults have a higher risk of early death, compared to their married counterparts.

Researchers say the risk of dying early was 23 percent greater among divorcees, similar to the rates among people who smoke, are overweight, or drink heavily.

The scientists believe the results could be because of some of the negative health conditions associated with divorce, like depression, or trouble sleeping.
