How's that New Year's resolution to lose weight coming along? Need some help?
There's a unique program that's helping people shed pounds by catering to their metabolism.
Whether it's on the treadmill or on the bike, exercise plays a big role in helping you lose weight. But there's a lot more to it.
Just ask Leonard Liberman. He says, "I wanna weigh what I weighed when I got out of the service which is a 165."
And he's almost there, thanks to an innovative program at Lifebridge Health and Fitness.
It's called the metabolic weight loss program.
They begin by measuring your oxygen level through a simple breathing test.
Ellen Sue Levinson-Jeffers, a personal trainer says, "When you test your oxygen in direct proportion to your caloric expenditure it is able to determine how many calories you need to burn to lose and that is coming from your resting metabolic rate."
You then work with a personal trainer to come up with a detailed meal plan that's just right for you.
Levinson-Jeffers says, "We have over 40 meal plans so we are bound to find one that fits your needs whether it's kosher or lactose intolerant, gluten free, you name it we have it."
Liberman says, "It makes you aware of every bite you take of every choice of meal, I'm reading labels, I'm looking more at calories, sugar, fat that type of thing."
Your health coach will also work with you to personalize an exercise routine.
Liberman says it's that personal touch that has helped him stick with the plan.
