Major League Baseball weighs in on concussion debate

Players play with new rules about concussions

Major League Baseball is now weighing in on the concussion discussion.

Baseball players will be playing with new rules.

The new policies adopted by Major League Baseball and its players union will require mandatory baseline brain and cognitive testing for all players.

The reason -- if they have a concussion, there is a frame of reference to help determine the extent of brain injury.

The league also has created a 7 day disabled list for players who have head injuries.

This gives them time to recover before returning to play.
