Individual health costs may rise

Prepare to pay more money if you buy your own health insurance.

When key pieces of the Affordable Care Act begin in 2014, plans will be required to cover "essential services."

Those services include medication, maternity and mental health care.

A University of Chicago study shows more than half of plans don't currently offer those benefits.

As coverage goes up, so does the cost.

Expect to see higher premiums for individual health plans next year.
