Getting through immunizations

Certain techniques help soothe a baby

Pediatricians are recommending a technique to help parents calm their babies during immunizations.  They refer to it as the 5 S's and they are the techniques suggested from the book Happiest Baby on the Block.

The 5 S's include: Swaddling, putting a baby on their side or stomach, shushing, swinging and sucking on a pacifier.

Doctors believe any or all of these things could help calm a baby after shots.  They want to educate parents about this so they don't skip vaccinations due to a baby's discomfort.
