FDA to investigate safety of caffeine in foods

The FDA is taking a closer look at caffeine in foods. The agency says it's time to investigate their safety.

This is in response to a caffeinated gun introduced this week by Wrigley. It's called alert energy gum.

The gum has about 40 milligrams of caffeine a piece, that's the same amount in found in a cup of coffee.

The agency is already investigating the safety of energy drinks after several deaths.
