FDA bans BPA from baby bottles, sippy cups

Check your pantry because the sippy cups and bottles you may be using to feed your children could contain dangerous chemicals.

The Food and Drug Administration says it is banning the controversial chemical bisphenol-a or BPA in some baby products after a recent study showed a link in the chemical to potential side effects on fetuses, infants and children.

The plastic is used to make bottles and sippy cups.

Some groups say the government should go further and ban BPA from all food-related manufacturing.

The chemical can be found in plastic bottles, food and drink cans, even baby formula cans.
