Do antibiotics turn infants into overweight toddlers?

A new study finds giving your baby antibiotics too early in life could increase their risk of being overweight as a toddler.

Researchers from New York University found infants receiving antibiotics in the first six months of their lives were 22% more likely to be chubby.

The weight gain typically occurred between 10 months and three years of age.  The good news is children generally shed those extra pounds by the time they turn seven.
