Students at City Neighbors High sign Best Buddies Maryland pledge

City Neighbors High School is latest to join a long list of schools pledging to ban the use of the R-word and other hurtful sentiments against people with developmental and intellectual disabilities. 

Students spent Wednesday dubbed “Best Buddies Day” signing the pledge for Best Buddies Maryland, a group that aims “to establish a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment and leadership development for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” according to the group’s website.
