An electrical issue at Brunswick High School in Frederick County caused the school to evacuate the building, moving all students and personnel out to the football stadium around 11:35 a.m. as a precautionary measure.

Everyone was safely accounted for and provided water before being moved to the middle school temporarily. By 1 p.m., the school announced it was dismissing high school students for the day, allowing those who could walk or drive home to leave.

Students who normally ride the bus will be dismissed at their normal time, the district said. Parents wishing to pick up their children can do so at the gym entrance of Brunswick Middle School.
