The former superintendent of the Howard County Public School System has a new job.
The Maryland State Department of Education announced Dr. Renee Foose was approved as a new Assistant State Superintendent.
Foose will work out of the Office of the Deputy for Teaching and Learning, Division of Assessment, Accountability and Information Technology.
While the approval came at today's board meeting, the state's web site lists the date of her appointment as TBD. The position pay scale ranges from a minimum of $92,333 to a maximum of $123,236 a year.

Foose left Howard County Public Schools earlier this year. The county agreed to a nearly $1.6 million retirement package for her.
