Baltimore City Public Schools host special National Food Day Event

BALTIMORE - Baltimore City Schools second annual Good Food Summit marks this year's Food Day.  It's a nationwide celebration of the movement for healthy, affordable food.

Elementary school students will participate in workshops about what makes food good.  High School students will serve as workshop leaders and chefs under the mentorship of professionals from the American Culinary Foundation.

The days teaching and learning experience shows important issues in the fight against childhood obesity and promotion of childhood health and nutrition.

The event will be held at  the Great Kids Farm on Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville.  It begins with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:30am followed by tours from 11 to 11:30am.
