3 Baltimore Co. seniors win environmental studies scholarships

TOWSON, Md. - The Oregon Ridge Nature Center Council awarded scholarships of $4,000 to three graduating seniors.

This year all of the scholarships awarded by the council were given to Baltimore County Public School students. They include: Thomas Jones of Sparrows Point High School, Nneamaka Odum of Randallstown High School and Amanda Phillips of Western School of Technology and Environmental Science.

"We are thrilled with the caliber of Baltimore County students pursuing environmental studies," said Dr. Polly Roberts, chair of the scholarship committee of the Oregon Ridge Nature Center Council.

Roberts also noted that the students' achievements reflect the quality of environmental education teachers in Baltimore County Public Schools.
