A Salisbury man is facing criminal charges after a dispute with his 5-year-old nephew over Pokemon cards.

Last week, police were called to a home in the 200 block of Phillip Morris Drive in Salisbury to investigate reports of an altercation at the home, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office.

When they arrived, deputies learned 29-year-old Kyle T. Burford had allegedly hit his nephew because the boy was playing with Burford's Pokemon cards, police said.

Burford allegedly hit the boy so hard he knocked him off his feet and into a wall, according to police.

The 29-year-old was taken into custody at the home.

He is charged with second-degree child abuse and second-degree assault.
