During a welfare check, police found a 19-year-old dead inside a Grasonville home.

Deputies from the Queen Anne's County Office of the Sheriff, as well as other law enforcement agencies, went to Fisher Manor around 4:30 on Sunday afternoon. When they got to the scene, deputies found Maiky Jerrally Ferreras, 19, on the second floor of his home with a gunshot wound.

Emergency services arrived shortly after deputies and declared Ferreras dead. Detectives are conducting an investigation to find out what happened surrounding Ferreras' death.

Detectives believe this is an isolated incident and do not think there are any additional threats to the surrounding community.
