Talking points for parents in the wake of the Penn State University sex abuse scandal

In the wake of the Penn State sex abuse scandal , many parents may be asking how to discuss it with their children.

Prevent Child Abuse America created a list of talking points for parents and a list of tips to help keep them safe.

According to their blog, one of the most important things a parent can do is believe their child. PCAA says children don't usually make up sexual abuse allegations.

Teach your child those are the situations they need to tell you about; times when behavior confuses them or makes them feel uncomfortable.

Parents also need to explain to their children when to keep secrets and above all, no one should touch them if they don't want to be touched.
