An Ellicott City woman has been charged after police say she stole from Portalli’s Restaurant after flood waters swept through the area over the weekend.

Madeline Eve Scott, 29, of St. Paul Street is charged with second-degree assault, fourth-degree burglary and theft, according to Howard County police.

Police said Scott stole four bottles of liquor from Portalli’s while the restaurant was left unsecured because of flood damage. The owner of the business told police Scott threw one of the bottles at him when she was confronted.
