"Since then school officials have found a couple of Molotov cocktails on the tennis courts,” said Lori Boone of the Howard County Police Department, “They've also found some graffiti including slurs and profanity spray painted on to the football field. Some tires were slashed in a nearby parking lot."
The topper came on Thursday just before five o'clock in the morning when as many as three intruders glued a number of doors shut, made entry into the high school and set off a fire alarm prompting school officials to order a modified lock down of the school.

As students arrived, they were directed to assemble in the nearby football stadium.
"Yesterday morning police actually brought canines in and cleared the school before they let the students in just out of an abundance of caution to make sure nothing was going on inside the school that could hurt anyone," said Boone.
Ironically, the football stadium, itself, also was turned into a crime scene recently, not just with the aforementioned vandalism, but when thieves sought some items dear to Hawks' students and fans.
"We had a case in the football stadium where there's a storage shed for merchandise, spirit wear, things they would sell at football games and that was broken into and some of the items were stolen," said John White, a spokesman for the Howard County Public Schools.
Now police are offering up to $500 in reward money to help catch the criminals.
