Police need help finding suspect in bank robbery

Howard County police need help identifying a suspect in the robbery of Capital One Bank in the 600 block of Marshalee Drive in Elkridge.

Friday afternoon at 1:45 pm, the suspect walked into the bank demanding money and saying he had a weapon.

After receiving the money the suspect fled.

There were no injuries but the investigation is still ongoing.

Police are working with Montgomery County detectives who are investigating another robbery at the Sandy Spring Bank in the 3500 block of Spencerville Road in Burtonsville, involving the same suspect.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a blue hoodie, gray sweatpants and glasses. His face was partially covered with bandages; he was wearing a white neck brace.

Police are also looking into previous bank robberies in Laurel, where the suspect descriptions were similar. One on February 5 at Howard Bank and the other on January 15 at Sandy Spring Bank.
