ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (WMAR) -
A Columbia man has been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries throughout Howard County.
Robert Stone, 43, has been charged with first, third and fourth degree burglary, destruction of property, auto theft and resisting arrest in multiple cases.
On November 22, police investigating a stolen vehicle located the car parked in front of a home in the 11000 block of Ridermark Row in Columbia. Officers spotted Stone walking near the hose dressed in dark clothing, wearing a mask and gloves.
When approached, Stone ran, but was quickly captured by police. Upon further investigation, it was determined that a nearby residences had been burglarized, and that the rear door had been smashed with a rock. Stone was arrested at the scene.
After his arrest, a search and seizure warrant was conducted on Stone's residence, during which police located evidence linking him to other burglaries. One on July 14 in the 6800 block of Creekside Road in Clarksville, and one on August 31 in the 5900 block of Bright Flow Mews in Columbia.
Detectives are still trying to figure out if Stone is linked to any other burglaries in the area. Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 410-313-STOP.
