COLUMBIA, Md. - Howard County police arrested and charged an Ellicott City man on multiple counts of assault and sex offense committed over the course of a year, according to the department.
Jeremy Kaho Ng, 26, of Whitworth Way, was arrested three times between Jan. 6 and Jan. 8.
He was first arrested on Jan. 6 in the 5000 block of Columbia Road in Columbia, Md. after reportedly grabbing a woman between the legs as she walked into her apartment.
"The woman screamed and her friend, an off-duty police officer who was inside the apartment, ran after the suspect and held him until officers arrived," according to a release.
Police then found similarities between the incident on Columbia Road and other reports of sex-related assaults in Howard County.
Police connected Ng to an incident on May 23 when they believe the 26-year-old groped a woman under her skirt as she was getting into her car in the parking lot of the Best Buy store in Columbia.
Police reviewed surveillance footage from the Best Buy that showed Ng following the woman through the store and into the parking lot. It also showed Ng getting into a white Dodge pickup trick, which police located at Ng's home.
Investigators also believe Ng is responsible for touching a woman in the Mall in Columbia parking lot on Jan. 10, 2013. Police contacted the victim from the mall incident and filed appropriate charges, the release states.
Ng was charged with three counts of second-degree assault and fourth degree sex offense. He was arrested three times between Jan. 6 and Jan. 8. Each time he was released on $5,000 bond.
"Investigators are asking anyone who may have been a victim in a similar incident to contact police at 410-313-STOP," the release states. "Ng is known to drive the white Dodge Ram pick-up truck and a light blue Mazda sedan."
