Howard County gymnastics coach sentenced to six years for child pornography

A U.S. District Judge has sentenced a Howard County youth gymnastics coach to six years in prison for distribution of child pornography.

Paul Bollinger, 57, worked as a youth coach in Maryland for over 30 years prior to his arrest.

According to his plea deal on May 15, 2016, Bollinger distributed files of child pornography using a file sharing program on the computer.

Detectives say Baltimore County Police downloaded at least 10 movie files containing child pornography that Bollinger distributed.

After obtaining a warrant and searching his home, detectives found Bollinger’s desktop with a wallpaper of a naked girl loaded with numerous files of child pornography, and over 100 pages of written fantasies by Bollinger’s bed he had written.

Detectives say Bollinger admitted his obsession with girls between the ages of 8-12 years began in 1990.

Bollinger remains detained.

Once he is released. Bollinger will have 12 years of supervision.
