The death of a Columbia man is being investigated as a homicide, and a suspect is in custody, Howard County Police said.
Police said late Wednesday afternoon that it is an acquaintance of the victim.
Police said 62-year-old Martin Edward Mullineaux, of the 8700 block of Hayshed Lane, appears to have died as a result of unconfirmed traumatic injuries inside his apartment on Hayshed Lane in Columbia.
He was found just before noon Tuesday after it was reported he had not been seen since the day before.
There were no signs of forced entry, according to police, and Mullineaux was the only person listed on the apartment lease.
An autopsy is underway.
