Four Oakland Mills High School students charged in attempted murder of cab driver

Around 10:45 PM a call from a Columbia Flyer taxi driver was made to police saying he had been assaulted.

The night started with the driver receiving a call for a pick up in Sweet Fern of Columbia. Four males got in the car and asked to be driven to Sewell's Orchard Road in Columbia.

At some point during the ride, the driver was instructed to pull over and as he did, the passenger behind him began choking him with a karate belt. The front passenger, pulled a gun and threatened to kill him. The driver, in fear for his life, accelerated and drove into a tree, which then deployed the airbags.
