Howard County Police have a cold case dating back 20 years, and are hoping someone has new information.

On July 6, 1996,  the body of 14-year old Teneisha Whitfield was found inside a stolen white Honda Accord.  The car was parked in the 9700 block of Covered Wagon Drive just after midnight.  Not only was Whitfield shot, but the car had been set on fire.

Howard County Detectives determined that Whitfield, who was from the Capital Heights area of Prince George's County, was last seen the day before leaving an outreach program in Washington, D.C.  As far as the investigation goes, there is still no known connection between Whitfield and anyone in the Laurel area.

The vehicle was reported stolen on July 2, 1996, from the Temple Hills area of Prince George's County.
